EDI training UK - EDI course

EDI training UK that creates lasting change

From awareness to action

Across the UK, organisations are seeking to create inclusive cultures where everyone feels valued and respected. My Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) support and EDI training UK can support you on that journey. Whether you’re based in London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Plymouth, Penzance or anywhere in between, I offer bespoke, data-informed training that empowers teams to move from good intentions to meaningful impact.

My EDI training is not about shame or blame. It’s about open dialogue, courageous conversations, and building the confidence to lead inclusively. With over 20 years of experience working with organisations across the UK and beyond, I’ve seen the power of EDI support and training to create systemic, positive change.

How to choose the right EDI training for your organisation?

From online, impersonal offerings to bespoke, personal approaches, the choice can feel overwhelming. If you decide to work with an EDI consultant or trainer, it’s important to recognise that we all come from different backgrounds, with varying lived and professional experience, academic grounding, and facilitation styles.

Here are some key things to consider before making your decision:

🔍 Define what you’d like to achieve. Get clear on your goals. Do you want to raise awareness? Build inclusive leadership? Tackle a specific issue such as racism or ableism in the workplace? Naming your outcomes helps guide your choice.

💷 Clarify your budget. Investing in EDI is an investment in your people and culture but it’s important to be upfront about your budget. This helps you narrow down options and assess what’s feasible for your team. For example, a budget of £1K is a good starting point for a small non-for-profit organisation. Anything below is unlikely to get you something bespoke. I provide a tier-price structure so depending on your organisation’s size and structure, you will have to pay different fees. It’s to keep it fair and equitable. That’s not every EDI consultant’s choice though.

📦 Decide between off-the-shelf or bespoke EDI training. Standardised training can be a useful starting point, but it often lacks depth and nuance. Bespoke sessions are more likely to engage your team, address your unique challenges, and lead to meaningful outcomes. Be honest with yourself, are you looking for a tick-box exercise or real transformation? It will also depends on your budget, of course.

🧰 Check the trainer’s practical experience. Some EDI consultants are excellent at facilitation but may lack hands-on experience driving change within organisations. If you are seeking applied, strategic insights, it’s worth choosing a consultant who has led internal EDI initiatives and understands the complexity of implementation. I proud myself in making all my training relevant and I offer practical advice that can be implemented within your organisation.

🧠 Understand their perspective and approach. Do they centre intersectionality? Are they trauma-informed? Do they reflect the lived experience you want to prioritise in your training? Review testimonials, and don’t be afraid to ask about their values and methods. It matters! It needs to feel it’s the right match.

🌱 Choose someone you can grow with. Your EDI journey isn’t just a one-off training session. Ideally, you will build a relationship with your EDI consultant. Whilst I support my clients through training, I can also support them through their journey, creating an EDI strategy, implementing change, and reviewing progress for example.

Taking the time to choose the right fit sets your organisation up for success. If you’d like to explore working with me, feel free to drop me a line. This can start with a chat.

What does my EDI training look like in practice?

It’s a hands-on, reflective, and participatory process where individuals and teams:

  • Explore their own relationship to privilege and power
  • Understand how systems of inequality show up in the workplace
  • Build the skills and confidence to lead inclusively
  • Get practical insights that they can implement
  • Create more equitable and inclusive spaces

My sessions create space for courageous conversations, the kind that foster real culture change. My approach is kind, yet challenging, so you can all grow with my support.

  • Kind, yet challenging, to encourage your growth
  • Evidence-based and people-centred
  • Adaptable to your team’s starting point

I don’t believe that there is only one way to create inclusion. I am not interested in polarising spaces. I want to create spaces for understanding: it’s ok to disagree. I create spaces where participants feel respected, even as they are being challenged.
